How Can We Help?

Find answers to common questions below. If you don't see what you need, email us directly.

Getting Started

ScriptureNotes uses Sign in with Google. Tap "Sign In" on the welcome screen, choose your Google account, and you're in. No password to create or remember. Your notes are tied to your Google account and sync across devices.
Yes — the free tier lets you save up to 3 sermon notes, read 6 Bible translations (KJV, ASV, WEB, BSB, CEV, FBV), and try live transcription for 3 sessions per month.

ScriptureNotes Plus ($7.99/month or $69.99/year) unlocks unlimited notes, unlimited live transcription, AI Insights, Scripture Bites, all Bible translations, and Daily Bread devotionals generated from your own notes. A 7-day free trial is included.
Yes. ScriptureNotes is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that works on any modern browser — iPhone, Android, iPad, Mac, or PC. On Android it can also be installed from the Google Play Store as a native app. To install on iPhone, open the app in Safari and tap "Add to Home Screen."

Live Transcription

Tap the microphone button on the Record screen to start a session. ScriptureNotes listens in real time using Deepgram's speech-to-text engine. As you speak (or as the pastor speaks), words appear on screen and scripture references are automatically linked as they're detected. At the end, your transcript and scripture links are saved with your note.
Try the following steps in order:

1. Make sure your browser or app has microphone permission. On iPhone/Safari: Settings → Safari → Microphone → Allow. On Android: Settings → Apps → ScriptureNotes → Permissions → Microphone.
2. Reload the page and try again.
3. Check that no other app is using the microphone at the same time.
4. If transcription connects but produces no text, ensure you're speaking clearly and that your device isn't on silent or low volume.

Still stuck? Email support@scripturenotes.app.
Each time you tap the microphone to begin recording, that uses one session credit. Free accounts get 3 sessions per calendar month. Sessions reset at the start of each month. Plus subscribers have unlimited sessions.

Scripture Linking

As your transcript is generated, ScriptureNotes scans for Bible reference patterns (e.g. "John 3:16", "Romans 8", "the Gospel of Mark chapter two"). Recognized references are linked automatically so you can tap them to read the full verse in the built-in Bible reader. You can also tap the Enhance button after recording to run a deeper AI-powered scan for implicit references.
The free tier includes 6 public-domain translations: KJV, ASV, WEB, BSB, CEV, and FBV.

Plus unlocks additional licensed translations including ESV, NIV, NASB, NLT, CSB, and more. Switch translations any time in the Bible reader or in Preferences.

Daily Bread & AI Features

Daily Bread is a 7-day devotional plan generated personally for you from your own sermon notes. Each day includes a reflection, a scripture, a prayer, and a brief application — all drawn from what you actually heard on Sunday. It bridges the Sunday-to-Monday gap by weaving the sermon into your week.
Scripture Bites (found in the Gems tab) are flashcard-style review cards extracted from your sermon notes and transcripts. Each card highlights a key verse or insight for quick review. Swipe through them during the week to reinforce what you heard. Plus subscribers can generate new Bites directly from any note.
After a sermon is recorded, the AI Insights tab generates key themes, study questions, a mind map of connected concepts, and a summary — all from your transcript. It's designed to help you go deeper in 60 seconds rather than spending hours re-reading notes.

Subscription & Billing

Tap Start Free Trial on the subscription page (or when prompted by a Plus feature). You'll be taken to a secure Stripe checkout. Enter your card details — you won't be charged until the 7-day trial ends. Cancel any time before then to pay nothing.
Tap your account avatar in the top-right corner, then tap Subscription → Manage Subscription. This opens your Stripe billing portal where you can cancel, pause, or switch plans. If you cancel, your Plus access remains active until the end of your current billing period.
Yes. Tap your account avatar → Subscription → Manage Subscription to open the Stripe portal, then switch your plan. Annual is $69.99/year — about 27% less than monthly. The change takes effect at your next renewal date.
This is usually a sync delay. Try signing out and back in via Preferences → Sign Out. If the issue persists after 10 minutes, email support@scripturenotes.app with the email address on your account and a screenshot of your receipt — we'll sort it out immediately.

Account & Data

Open any note and tap the Export button (share icon) to download it as a PDF or copy it to your clipboard. You can also share a verse card directly from the scripture view.
Yes — notes you've already viewed are cached locally and readable offline. The app will prompt you to reconnect when you try to use features that require a network connection (live transcription, AI Insights, Daily Bread generation). Your typed notes are saved locally and synced when you're back online.
Go to Preferences → Delete Account and follow the confirmation steps. Deleting your account permanently removes all your notes, transcripts, and personal data from our servers. Any active subscription will be cancelled automatically. This action cannot be undone. You can also visit scripturenotes.app/delete-account directly.
Yes. Your notes and transcripts are stored on a secure Railway server and are never shared with third parties for advertising. Audio is processed in real time by Deepgram and is not stored after transcription. AI features use Google Gemini and transmit only text, not audio. See our full Privacy Policy for details.
